REGISTRATION OPEN

Fall Academy offers an opportunity for students to choose specific classes based on their personal interests and to dive more deeply into a specific topic. Whether you are new to the Springer Theatre Academy or a seasoned veteran, Fall Academy has something to offer everyone!

Fall Academy classes will be held virtually this year on the video communication app Zoom. Students must have access to a computer or device with a webcam and internet. Classes will be held every Tuesday in two separate time blocks.

October 13, 20, 27
November 3, 10, 17

1st Block: 4:00 - 4:40 pm
2nd Block: 4:45 - 5:25 pm

On the final day, each class will end with a short presentation of classwork on Zoom for friends and family to watch!

From Page To Stage (w/ Samantha Kepley)

Grades Kindergarten to 2nd

1st Block (4:00-4:40pm)

Students will explore the fantastic worlds of familiar stories. Through creative play, imagination and games, we will see stories come to life in this bigger than life class!

The Story of Stuff (w/ Sally Baker)

Grades Kindergarten to 2nd

2nd Block (4:45-5:25pm)

Every thing has a story. Students will collaboratively create worlds and characters from objects found in our very own homes! Bring your best imagination to discover details and invent individuals!

Improv (w/ Jasper Howell)

Grades 3rd to 5th

1st Block (4:00-4:40pm)

Who needs a script? Explore imagination and partner work in a fun and creative environment that prepares you for life! Learn to make bold choices, be a great scene partner and think on your feet

Voice and Movement (w/ Samantha Kepley)

Grades 3rd to 5th

2nd Block (4:45-5:25pm)

A high-spirited class combining the fundamentals of vocal and physical stage skills, and their integration into the actor’s craft.

Acting For One (w/ Beth Reeves)

Grades 6th to 12th

1st Block (4:00-4:40pm)

Based off of Theatre for Social Change and Theatre for One-designed for one actor/one audience member, this class will allow students to create art by devising material-- standing up for social change/climate of today. Creating art for one person (or one population), students will also study famous monologues from characters in plays who stood up for what was right. 

Scene Study (w/ Jasper Howell)

Grades 6th to 12th

2nd Block (4:45-5:25pm)

In this class, students will have the opportunity to sharpen their tools in the actor's studio. See what it means to live truthfully under given circumstances and bring text to life through voice and movement. 

COST AND PAYMENT OPTIONS:

Each Fall class costs $90.00, which will cover all 6 classes.

You may decide to pay for the class in full or make a $25.00 deposit. The remaining balance must be paid in full before the first day of class.

  • A non-refundable deposit of $25 is required with registration. Without this, your place in the class is not reserved.

  • Full payment is due on or before the first day of class.

  • We accept registrations up to the first day of classes, based on availability.

  • Upon registration and deposit, you will receive a confirmation email and balance statement.
