James and the Giant Peach is Rolling into Town!

James and the Giant Peach is the tale of James Henry Trotter and his daring escapades with his five buggy friends, his evil aunts Spiker and Sponge, and a silly assortment of kooky acquaintances. James and the Giant Peach is a hilarious experience that explores the unlimited universe of childhood imagination.

A mysterious ringmaster comes into town and offers James a bag of little green things, and on his way home, he trips with these little magical things and a giant peach grows! We then join him on a wacky and whimsical adventure with his new buggy and unique friends.

James director and newly appointed Springer Theatre Academy Director, DB Woolbright has a bit of personal history with the show. He was cast as the Grasshopper in the Springer Children's Theatre 2009 production of the show when he was a Springer Theatre Academy Student.

“If you’ve ever met a Springer Theatre Academy student, then you know how special they are -- how funny, clever, and talented they are. This cast is particularly packed with those talented and funny students.” director DB says.

James and the Giant Peach is based on the book of the same title by Roald Dahl, and dramatized by Richard R. George. Dahl loved to include word play and poetry, which is evident in the script. DB, a musician himself, has decided to include music to accompany the script. He wrote the score for his adaptation, including a hoe-down and a hip hop track! “What’s better than a bunch of bugs singing along to that?”
